School Neuropsychological and Psychoeducational evaluations.

What is the difference between a school neuropsychological evaluation and a psychoeducational evaluation?

School Neuropsychology combines neuropsychological and educational principles in assessment and intervention with children in order to facilitate learning and behavior improvements within school and family systems. School neuropsychological evaluations contain specific and detailed neuropsychological components including assessment of executive functions, speed and efficiency of processing, sensorimotor functions, attention, memory and learning functions. Traditional psychoeducational reports are not as comprehensive as school neuropsychological reports, although they share common elements. While a school neuropsychological evaluation focuses on neuropsychological components, a psychoeducational evaluation contains cognitive (measures of IQ), achievement (levels of reading writing and math) and personality (measures of depression, anxiety, conduct, etc.) components.
